The Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society honor the tireless work and commitment to preserving African-ancestored family history, genealogy, and cultural diversity through a number of award programs.
Our awards programs are designed to recognize individuals, communities and corporations for outstanding contributions in promoting scholarly research; providing resources for historical and genealogical studies; creating a network of persons with similar interests; and assisting members in documenting their histories transforming education through advanced teaching research techniques.

Books can always be submitted. Entries received after current year’s deadline date are automatically entered for the next year’s award program.
