Community Remembrance for Mr. John Henry Scott

About this event

We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM for a Community Remembrance Ceremony to honor Mr. John Henry Scott, a Black freedman who was tragically lynched in Oxon Hill, MD, on March 23, 1875.  No one was ever held accountable for his extra-judicial murder.  At this event, we will celebrate his life and give him the proper, dignified homegoing he was denied in death.
